Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Lozengy fesswise Or and Silver Gray, issuant from base a tower Sable charged with a double-warded key bow to base of the first. Attached below the shield a tripartite Black scroll inscribed "SERVICE PAY SUPPORT" in Gold.

Symbolism
Silver gray and golden yellow are the colors traditionally associated with Finance units. The lozengy field suggests the Finance Corps insignia of branch and underscores the unit's pay and procurement missions. The tower symbolizes defense and commemorates the organization's baptism of fire in Europe during World War II. The key recalls control of funds and represents security.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 20 March 1995. It was cancelled effective 16 July 2008, when the unit was redesignated to a Company.
